a book that you may or may not know about

i found a book, published by central publishing company in nashville, in
1885, by E.A. Allen, called "Prehistoric World or Vanished Races". do any
of you know anything about this book or its author? I cant seem to find
anything about the book itself. i figured it had something to do with
anthropology. it has all kinds of wonderful drawings, and even the
illustrations on the cover, wrapping around to the back, that are so 19th
century and unique. I guess the author wrote "the golden gems of life" as
well.

any help would be helpful...
