Genetic Differences Point to Ethnic and Racial Disparities in Colorectal Cancer Risk

ATLANTA - Risk of developing colorectal cancer is known to differ
across ethnic and racial groups, and now an analysis of 26 studies,
involving over 25,000 participants shows that some of these
disparities might be explained by distinct patterns of genetic
inheritance. A team of researchers, led by investigators at the
University of Pittsburgh, present their findings today in Atlanta at
the American Association for Cancer Research conference on The Science
of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the
Medically Underserved, being held November 27-30.
