While all EU citizens are allowed to live and work in any other EU country
they still have to get a working permit to work in most of the countries and
to get that you need to have a place to live which isn't a hotell to get the
registration for the social security system you need to be able to work. I
spoke with one Frenchman the other week who hadn't brought with him his
birth certificate while moving to Sweden and thus it had taken him several
month to get the working permit needed to be registered and have his social
security number which he needed to get the working permit which the EU laws
grants. I know of Swedes who have had same problems in England and Italy as
well. So yes you are allowed to move and work anywhere inside EU - but you
have to register and to do so you need all papers with you and get a steady
address.
