Well, not to defend Inger (or even bestow upon her any degree of
competence in computers - or anything else...), even specialists lose
data occasionally, trust me on this.

Of course, it's usually because you're absolutely convinced that you
either never need that data again (which can't be the case as Inger is
supposedly _using_ this stuff - and it is never true anyway ;)), or that
you're absolutely convinced it's backed up on the _other_ set of tapes...

Well, yes. I've got all my data backed up on at least two sets
(alternately updated) of CDs*, on two computers (one at work, one at
home), and some on thumb drives as I move it back and forth...and that's
just for my personal website, don't ask how many backups I have for the
server at work!

* And a variety of floppies going back to 5 1/4...not that I have
anything to read those anymore. I just can't throw anything out...
