Speaking very slowly - if you look up message Message-ID:
<b5gen0dj9h5b5tlks7ftbotg5pkpjhhm0f@4ax.com> you will find that I
started _this_branch_of_the_thread_ under the subject of "The wheel
reinvented". Tedd Jacobs broke the thread by changing the subject to
"Precolumbian Norse in Alaska and Vancouver". You then went on to
break it again under the present inestimable title. Nevertheless the
discussion has continued on from my original remarks. So, once again
repeating myself very slowly, going back to my original remark which
started this branch of the thread ...

I know you have a vested interest in this matter but - the truth is -
I have seen various suggestions based on verifiable source material
that the Norse rounded NA via the NW passage.

In that case you have not heeded my advice to stay way from the fume
cupboard.

Why? Its all orthodoxy by the time it gets to that stage. This is not
meant to be a news group confined only to what is known beyond all
doubt. As I have already said in response to Tedd Jacobs:
"As I have already said, the evidence is tenuous and I would not
expect it to long survive in this news group. However, in other
forums (mailing lists etc) it is periodically being seriously
discussed without immediately being rejected out of hand".
