I'd be happy if we had such "mess" left from other great scientists.
>>From present and past periods of time. And besides: I can edit such
a "mess" while reading it. Goethe called reading a highly demanding
art. An art in which I am well versed, I may say. For those less
versed I distill the most important ideas, as for example in the
case of Gould's great legacy.

I take it Peter T. Daniels, gruff and grumpy king of sci.lang,
is finally interested in a topic of mine! He tries to conceal
his interest behind his royal grunts, but he can't fool me:
he is finally interested in a topic of mine! I savour that,
of course. In earnest: we shall soon come to language, but
I got a fever, as I told you before, and I hope to be well
again on Christmas. Just now I am preparing the next messages
at home. Part 2 of my series will be about Homer's gods and
the selfish genes according to Richard Dawkins, and with part 3
we shall come to the topic of language. You will be surprised,
I can tell you, but please allow me to take some time. I hope
to publish part 2 on next Monday, and part 3 in the middle of
next week, between Christmas and New Year. Is that fine with
you? Yes? No royal grunt any more? Really?

Much relieved, and wishing everybody a merry Christmas

PS. Readers in German who can't wait may look up my web page
www.seshat.ch/home/diplom.htm, where I bespeak the installation
Prayers (www.seshat.ch/home/diplom2.JPG) by the Swiss-Tibetan
Muya ..., diplomand of the art school at Lucerne. That article
of mine includes many of my ideas I shall publish in English
and further develop here in this thread.
