I've written this in the original thread -- it came up a while ago when

Although I freely admit that I don't read Swedish, it is close enough to
other European languages that I can read (such as French) that I could
pick out general meanings, and particularly words from other languages,
such as French names, e.g. Verendrye. I was looking for something that
could back up Inger's claim that the Swedish version is radically
different from the English version, somehow almost 100 times as long.
The one significant difference I did see is that the Swedish version
generally includes notes on North American plants (after all, Kalm was a
botanist and student of Linne) which the English versions do not. Thus
the Swedish version is twice as long as the English version of 1770 (4
volumes rather than 2). "
