I think that there was little intimacy at first. Still, the fox
experiment effectively detailed the comparative differences between wild
canids and their domesticated cousins. The fact that it was done in 40
years implies that even without a deliberate plan of action, this change
could occur totally in the space of a century, assuming moderated
actions relating to killing/driving off agressive individuals. We will
probably never find the first puppy mill.
