You have to be careful in saying that a word doesn't exist. I have often
found that words exist without having informed me (or the dictionaries) of
their existence.

The spelling checker in Outlook Express does not stop and flag "restauration
" as wrong. You could almost believe Inger was telling the truth about her
spell checker here. However, one wonders how the same spell checker could
ignore certain words in the same message:

binded
loosy
parchement

Sounds like the usual dishonest bluff to me.
