As close as ten-foot pole will allow.

Perhaps we are getting somewhere. But no thanks to our fellow
scholars for whom it is beneath their hallowed dignity to
stoop to quoting sources. I'd be curious to see the original
Greek. Rather, the many Greek manuscripts from which that was
pieced together.
In the meantime, we should go back to discussing how Sumerian
is Austronesian, eh? I can see a direct link. Oannes is
equated with Ea. And Ea is pretty close to Tahitian i'a "fish",
and even closer to Lehali /E/, same meaning. (I shouldn't have
written that. Some imbecile is likely to take it at face
value. Oh well, we shall soon be entertained by another
loony website!).
