The senile old fart, Ken Towe, has resorted to demonstrating its
"credentials" as an IDIOT. It attacks me as a person with material
that has NO RELEVANCE to anything at all being discussed. However this
IS what occurs the minute the attacker CANNOT address the issues. This
is not a new tactic, but merely one that demonstrates the INABILITY of
the mindless attacker to deal with the issues. We have see Doug Weller
resort to racism and accusations of "Nazi sympathisers" in an equally
mindless character assassination attempt when he could NOT dispute the
genuine research done by the academics he defamed.

In other words Ken resorts to what is really terminal stupidity and
damaging his own credibility (if it has any). It does so, because HE
can be shown to be academically CORRUPT - not only by the terminally
STUPID attempts at character assassination it attempts instead of
addressing the ISSUES, but via the deliberate and significant
misrepresentation in the field he claims "expertise" in. It is these
he CANNOT and DOES NOT prove me wrong on - hence the attacks and
vilification with mind numbing stupidity! He does NOT LIKE being shown
for what he is - a fake!

Even so these issues are actually only incidentally to the issues as
they relate to -the VM. Some "academics" make compilation of skulls to
provide the "missing link" - others deliberately misstate facts in
support of their own views. Both are equally "honourable" and deserve
the same "recognition"!

Ken states:

This he now concedes IS NOT TRUE and never was in the first place. Yet
many people have relied on this deliberate misrepresentation that Ken
NEEDED else his whole house of card would crash around his ears - as
it now has.

Here is the admission of him having faked the earlier "report":

To this end Ken Towe wrote a LONG litany of 776 words, (much much
longer than anything I wrote in the irrelevant case the idiot refers
to, but has NIL understanding of) of "excuses" for this ONE lie of
his:
"I would like to emphasize my point on natural anatase and its lack of
relevance to the Vinland Map inks."

Now, having admitted intellectual corruption and misleading claims in
an article he would ask be taken as something "serious", he attempts
"excuses" for this corruption -like the claim "lack of relevance". He
does NOT say "Oh, I didn't know it existed in nature..." hell no, he
KNEW it existed.

Even IF his claim is true that it isn't relevant, the lack of
relevance does NOT excuse the deliberate misleading statement and
impression he created! It is a fraudulent statement in the field of
science - something REAL scientists get "defrocked" over, have the
buttons on their "white coats" ripped off (or perhaps even locked away
by other men in white coats).

So what about this claim of "no "relevance" - where does that come
from? Oh yes, he DOES tell us, but first he has another attack:
"Professor McCulloch cites Charles Weaver.... are half-truths taken
WAY out of context. He neglects..." oh yes, he "neglects" all right,
neglects telling us that it is a reference to an IRRELEVANT LABORATORY
PROCEDURE that Ken now starts using as an "excuse" for his deliberate
misrepresentation! After all Ken, quoting Weaver suggests: "..UNDER
THESE CONDITIONS (CALGON, SONIC TREATMENT, CENTRIFUGE), have more of
an affinity for each other than for kaolinite." (emphasis is Ken's).
What he FAILS to show is where, in nature, we find such things as
"sonic treatment" and "centrifuge" actions.

He quotes Weaver further, the really telling part is this: "In order
to observe...." the TiO2! Here Weaver is discussing his METHODS as a
GOOD researcher does (unlike Ken who substitutes it for abuse). This
has no bearing on anything found on the map - merely a way of
substantiating that he has used a procedure that will provide reliable
results of his findings. THAT is what the quoted text is about and now
misrepresented by Ken!

I mean, surely if he make the claim of relevance of these things, he
has to show where they exist in nature - that is where the stuff IS
after all! Of course, that isn't what he is doing even if he makes it
sound like it. He is stating that to separate (in a laboratory) the
anatase from the kaolinite for research purposes those procedures were
used. So? It isn't the case for the VM as we know. Nobody "separated"
the anatase first, then put it on the map as implied by Ken.

Still his admission even though VERY curiously worded is this:
"Virtually all anatase found in clay sediments is initmately(sic)
associated with the clay." - if the anatase is being "intimate" with
anything is really questionable, and irrelevant. That it is part of
the clay he admits - and as we know that too exists on the VM,
-McCrone said so in 1988!

So the now drives the nails home in the coffin of the VM, or so HE
believes, it is more like HIS OWN coffin, he says:
"On the Vinland Map the major, principal clay-sized materials (clay
minerals) are NOT seen..." well this simply is NOT TRUE, as they are
seen and Hu has identified from McCrone's work, and McCrone himself
has stated it exists. So now we see Ken being defamatory of McCrone, a
dead man who cannot defend himself, as well as of Hu McCulloch! But it
IS apparent from the work of both men that Ken's claim is NOT TRUE.

Ken writes: "Cahill et al.1 reported that they were able to find very
little titanium in the inks..." citing, Cahill, T. A.; Schwab, R. N.;
Kusko, B. H.; Eldred, R. A. Möller, G.; Dutschke, D.; Wick, D. L.;
Pooley, A. S. Anal. Chem. 1987, 59, 829-833.

Which reminds me that the TiO2 quantum is at issue here - or made so
by Ken.

McCrone "Update for the Vinland Map...": "We measured the titanium
content of nanogram flakes of the yellow ink itself, ... found 5-45%
by weight of the inorganic content to be titanium". McCrone also
paraphrases: "Cahill reported ... that the VM ink contained only the
trace amounts of titanium characteristic of all medieval maps".
Obviously a variance of 40% is a massive variance, and suggest a max.
and minimum - but not a median CAN still be in single digits.

Of course we see the "by WEIGHT" claim as well and have to note that
this distorts the actual amount of anatase further - anatase SG=3.8 ->
3.9, about average for metallic minerals, while aluminium SG=2.72 or
very light for metals. This skews the %. It makes it looking like a
lot more than actually is the case.

However McCrone's trouble is this impossible to achieve claim of his:
"...executed the map entirely with a yellow ink line then very
skillfully added a black ink line down the middle of the yellow line."

TWO things here, first he claims "yellow ink line" and it is claimed
to be using "yellow pigment, titanium "white," that in the 1920's,
when it was first produced as a very fine divided ink pigment" - well
IF it was a commercial product, then the distribution seen would
definitely NOT vary 40% from place to place by whatever way of
measuring it. The second problem is the, grabbed out of thin air,
statement the TiO2 PALE "yellow" PAINT "pigment" was used in "INK" -
where is the proof of that?!? This is not even touching the quite
impossible to achieve method he claims was used.

Another problem is, what are the proportions related to - in this case
it is the "yellow line" but not ALL of that either, only the
"inorganic" portion, or in other words -a long way from the whole ink!
That is how come the extraordinary high figure is achieved (even
though it has a wild variance from place to place). Cahill's comment
appear to relate to the WHOLE ink. So that McCrone and Cahill can
indeed be in agreement in reality as to quantum. To that end we also
see Ken play silly buggers with the quantum. He also ELECTS
deliberately to compare dunghills to roses when he refers to
quantities.

Ken presents the anatase in nature as "but a fraction of the total
clay" - 9/10ths is indeed a "fraction of the whole", so again we see
meaningless waffle from Ken. Another relational measure used by Ken
was "nearly always" - meaning NOT ALWAYS, but what amount is "nearly"
of the whole? Again it can be any number BUT the whole. Another
quantity term of his was "as a very minor component" - which is
anything below 50% - the word "very" doesn't alter the "minor" in any
meaningful way to provide a quantum. Therefor nothing of that portion
of his rant had any value at all. He failed to make his case, and it
has to be rejected as a meaningless rant from Ken.

SO not only has he admitted to lying in his 1990 article "The Vinland
Map: Still a Forgery", but he compounds that lie with even more
misrepresentations, fudging and obfuscation now!
