Well, there is certainly a group that tries to refute the "current
theory." Try visiting the IndianCivilization yahoogroup.
I'm sure they have many folk over there very familiar with the most
recent Western research although many of them indeed are probably
'Hindutvadis.'
There are also researchers who have no connections or sentiments at all
with the religious crowd like Dilip Chakrabarti of Cambridge who have
expressed reservation over Western bias pervading Indology.
