Why choosing as the title of this thread "The Minoan origin of the
Phaistos Disk" ?
Do you seriously believe that it enhances the credibility of your
"Calendaric Solution" ????
On the CONTRARY !
Because there are LOTS of ARGUMENTS showing that the Phaistos Disk is
NOT Minoan :
1)- Following a search made in the 1920ies (but not published), its
clay IS NOT CRETAN
2)- ItsHieroglyphs are NOT similar to the Cretan Hieroglyphs : VERY
FREQUENT CretanHieroglyohs like the "double axe", the "consecration
horns", etc. are MISSING. When there is a correspondent, its DESIGN is
VERY DIFFERENT : the "ship" has not a "round hull" like the Cretan
ships -- the costume of the "waman" is Ugaritian, not really Cretan --
the "ram" is represented in profile instead of in front -- etc.
3)- Some of the Phaistos Disk's signs point to a NON-CRETAN culture :
the "crested head" , the "round shield" have their equivalent in the
"Sea Peoples" representations, NOT IN CRETE.
4)- The Disk has been printed with stamps IN RELIEF. ALL the CRETAN
seals are IN HOLLOW.
5)- In spite of intensive diggings in Crete, NO OTHER DISK has been
found there...
