You would have what you define as "reasonable doubts" regardless of the
quality of the evidence showing that the Vinland Map is a fake. Based
upon
the quality of the evidence of the matter that points to fake as of the
date
of this post, and the quality of the evidence that points to
"authentic" as
of the date of this post, the only reasonable position (as the term
"reasonable" is defined and understood) is:
*It appear very unlikely that the VM is authentic, and very likely that
it
is fake. However, just as the case with every hypothesis, and with
every
theory, this position is subject to change in light of new evidence
that may
be adduced in the future.*
Without putting words into Dr. Towe's mouth, I wonder if he would
disagree
with that position, and if so why. I wonder if you would disagree with
that
position, and if so, why.
I would not disagree at all. You have expressed this very well, both
here and in your following post. I suspect Mr. Stevens will be too busy
with his many other projects to agree or disagree with you. After all,
if he did so he would then have taken an actual position on something,
and he doesn't seem willing to do that.
