he is demonstrating the lengths to which you will go to remain non-commital
on the basis of nothing. you've (imho) painted yourself into a corner in
which you can now honestly never put forward a conclusion on anything based
on your point of view that you have presented. mayhaps you should be an
engineer. ;-)

conversly it is a nasty characteristic of many a PhD to expect people to put
forward what they would suppose to be an educated opinion based upon what
they *do* know.
