I'm not against seeking truth but what happens in the newsgroup is massively
dominated by circular debates about a very few, Norse-related controversies.

As for the KRS, it could be a genuine Norse artifact and it could be a fake.
Usenet discussions don't really affect that and it's really a matter of what
people think based on the evidence they've seen.

Well he did find America at a time that nobody else in Europe appeared to know
it was there. I'll grant you that the Norse arrived earlier around 1000 CE and
there were already people living there so you're right that Columbus wasn't the
first to get there or even the first contact between the old and new world.

That said, I don't know anyone who says otherwise.

That's fine but it has nothing to do with Columbus and his measurements of
longitude, which was what I was hoping to explore and maybe learn something
about or pass on information.
