Exactly, the Inquisition only had authority of those who had been
baptised. A non-baptised Jew would have come under the Civil
authorities as being in breech of the expulsion order. At some points
in English history the Crown actually protected Jews and assisted them
in collecting debts. This was because Jews were considered Crown
property and could be heavily taxed, without worrying about
Parliament. By the time of the expulsion under Edward III there were
no rich Jews.
