Mr. Mousse writes...
"As a rule I do not reply to ranting and raving but since Mr. Towe did
raise one issue, he was very wrong of course on x-ray diffraction,
those with an interest might want to read up. Debye-Scherer EQUATION is
used in x-ray diffraction. There were no x-ray machines at all 60 years
before 1974 .Note in the powder unit gold and copper are not used the
the holder or emitter. ()Refer to Mr. Towe earlier statement about how
copper and gold was detected on the map.

Oh dear! Mr. Mousse has AGAIN embarrassed himself with his
comprehension abilities and abysmal ignorance!
I never said that X-ray diffraction was used 60 years before 1974. I
said that the powder camera has been IN USE for over 60 years. That
would be 1945. Mousse doesn?t even recognize, much less understand, the
difference between the X-ray powder camera and the X-ray
diffractometer. His vast experience at EWU failed to expose him to or
apprise him of the difference. His reference URLs are completely
irrelevant to his thesis that McCrone couldn?t have done X-ray
diffraction on small samples! The powder camera, as stated before, is a
very powerful tool for identifying small samples. A quickie from the
internet:
Debye Scherrer camera:
A very small amount of powdered material is sealed into a fine
capillary tube made from glass that does not diffract x-rays. The
specimen is placed in the Debye Scherrer camera and is accurately
aligned to be in the centre of the camera. X-rays enter the camera
through a collimator. The powder diffracts the x-rays in accordance
with Braggs law to produce cones of diffracted beams. These cones
intersect a strip of photographic film located in the cylindrical
camera to produce a characteristic set of arcs on the film.
Some of these cameras were even adapted for use with temperature
control as early as 1947. See...

Again, Mr. Mousse simply does not know what he is talking about!
Then Mr. Mousse amazingly confuses the composition of the X-ray tube
and sample holder with that of the TEM or electron microprobe. I was
NOT referring to the x-ray sample holder. TEM sample holders are
commonly copper grids and SEM/Probe samples are routinely vacuum-coated
with gold. This is what I wrote: "Mrs. Olin knows very well that both
of the elements copper and gold are present in McCrone's analysis
because of the sample holder and the sample coating used by the
energy-dispersive electron probe." That is NOT the X-ray machine!
Clearly, Mr. Mousse has a problem reading for comprehension. His
assertions remain baseless and misinformed.
