Re: New book on Vinland

Has anyone actually read this new book or are we dismissing it based on some very bad photos posted on a web site. Wasn't Sop's Arm the same location Farley Mowatt suggested was Leaf's landing?

According to the breathless blurb on this web page, there are images of only two artifacts. They are also on his own web page, and he already told us what he thinks he can make out on the stone:

"In addition to telling an amazing story, this book contains incredible illustrations, maps and diagrams by some amazing artists, pictures of two incredible artifacts and selections from the ancient Sagas themselves."

But I wouldn't mind borrowing it from whoever buys it. I have a sneaking hunch it won't be on my library's 'to buy' list.
