For the record, Barnes & Noble claimed, yesterday, to have 200 copies (of
the trade paperback version) of the the book. I've ordered one from them.
The clerk at B & N implied since my order with his competitor (Border's
Books) included a 30% discount coupon, and the (small) publisher involved
was unlikely to give Border's any discount off the book, Border's may well
have simply lied to me about the book being unavailable until more were
published.
We will see.
