Re: The unfinished pyramid of Nebka

I was successful, I think, locating the Layer Pyramid of Zawiyet
el-Aryan by means of Google Earth. Its coordinates are:

N 29° 55' 58.35" and E 31° 09' 39.78"

For this purpose, I've used a map one can find in an article written
by Mark Lehner "Z500 and The Layer Pyramid of Zawiyet el-Aryan"
(fig. 1, pag. 509), in the book "Studies in Honor of William Kelly
Simpson", available through the digital library of the Giza Archives
Project's Web site at:

Several tourists who visited the Zawiyet el-Aryan site report that the
Unfinished Pyramid of Nebka is close to the Layer Pyramid but,
unfortunately, lays within an Egyptian military base.

Please note what Linda Timothy, the photographer of the first Web site,
says:
"There are some unfinished pyramids from the 3rd and 4th dynasties at
Zawiyet El-Aryan. One is still on military land and inaccessible...
best not to approach too close!"
