Hello Inger,

You mentioned that knots/hour in your thread about "Ocean stream
speed". I've told you that technically, what you've written is an
acceleration.

Correct and that was what I meant when writing on top of the
other speed. The acceleration that occured must at least be
assumed to have been the new
shipspeed - the old shipspeed.

No, the increase in ship speed is the integral of the acceleration
over the time span that the acceleration is non-zero. Acceleration
is _never_ equal to a speed difference and can _never_ be added to
speed if a sensible answer is to be the result.

<snip of the family business<

Speed is the change of distance with respect to time.
Acceleration is the change of speed with respect to time

Correct and that's what I have been trying to say over and over
but you and
others doesn't seem to understand what I am saying.

We understand very well that you do not understand what you are
talking about :-)

Well, I have to say, I've got better things to do. I must away.

Dylan,
I know what I am talking about. You might as well. BUT Erik H
never ever had a clue for what he say.
I told him years ago that he better talk with people close to
him to get correct information or at least stop his personal abuse.

To paraphrase another poster, when IEJ says you are wrong, you
know you are right ;-)

And if correcting IEJ's elementary errors regarding Newtonian
mechanics is seen by her as abusive, one can only hope that her
probable Narcissistic Personality Disorder is of a treatable kind,
and that someone could persuade her to seek medical advice for it.

For IEJ: http://www.halcyon.com/jmashmun/npd/dsm-iv.html#npd

Striking! Well spotted.

(But I miss the daffodils)

I'll cling to the silly old universal standard equation as being
meters/second or FPM..
Inger appears to have an equation of so many errors per post
