HYP OTHESIS
In the Megalithic Area of Denmark, Sweden and Schleswig-Hostein
(Germany) the northern post-Magdalénian reindeer hunter learned that
it was worth the trouble to protect cattle against bear and wolf and to
feed them during winter.
Lately archaeologists have spoken about an extensive type of cattle
rearing. ( I don't know if I have the correct words here, but in any
case) They say that they haven't found enough storage area for the
fodder, and therefore they think that the cattle was just sheltered
from the most severe weather. Eventually they cattle were fed during
winters, but from what I remember archeologists think it didn't happen
until the ironage.
