I seem to have lost the thread. Along with my mind. Neither is serious,
however. :-)

IIRC, the '16' refers to '16 knots' figure that Inger gives for the
Gulf Stream. However, IIRC once more, that figure was its speed coming
out of the Gulf into the Atlantic. IOW, ISTM that the samples would be
taken of the Gulf Stream (and perhaps Labrador Current) at intervals on
its journey from the Gulf of Mexico to the eastern Atlantic.

But that doesn't help Inger, so there is no point in anyone pursuing
it. :-))
