Since it's essential for archaeologists and others who discuss impacts of
this and that geologic or oceanic 'phenomena' to have at least basic
knowledge in the subjects they discuss, here is a short ref list to start
with:
Faul Henry, It began with a stone : a history of geology from the Stone Age
to the age of plate tectonics /; New York 1983; ISBN: 0-471-89735-3
Haven Kendall F, : Wonders of the sea : merging ocean myth and ocean
science; Oxford : Harcourt Education [distributor], 2005 index ISBN:
1-59158-279-2 (pbk.)
Macdougall J D; A short history of planet earth : mountains, mammals, fire,
and ice New York : John Wiley, cop. 1996; ISBN: 0-471-14805-9
Thorpe S A; The turbulent ocean; Cambridge Univ. Pr., 2005; ISBN:
978-0-521-83543-5
Understanding earth / Frank Press ed.: 2001. ISBN: 0-7167-9617-1
next I only read in Swedish translation thus the ISBN number is to a Swedish
edition:
Cutler Alan, The seashell on the mountaintop. Swedish title: Snäckan i
berget : en berättelse om geologins grundare och upptäckten av jordens
historia / Alan Cutler; Stockholm : Fahrenheit, 2005 (Finland) ISBN:
