Great Basin Anthropological Conference

alot of discussion at various symposias concerning natural processes,
sampling stratigies/recovery methods, and analysis and interpretation of
assemblages. of priority to my interests were presentations by D.W. Manuel
(blm archaeologists, ret.), R.K. Talbot (BYU), A.R. Schroedl (P-III
associates inc.), R.M. Yohe II (UCB) and M.G. Pavesic, C.D. Young (far
western archaeological research group, inc.). there were a number of other
various topics and papers that i sat in on were also quite interesting,
including M.J. Macri (UCD), J.M. Adovasio (mercyhurst), E.J. Stoner (WCRM),
K. McAlistar & S. Henrikson (UofO), Yohe (again), and R.L. Bettinger (UCD),
among others.

my paper was well recieved and drew nods of approval with a few questions
and positive comments. overall it was good. we are considering the
possibility of presenting it again at the national guard symposium at the
SAA (*yikes*).

as for the real reason we went there,... mapping onto the local resources
and the jimmy buffet concert were great! scotch, cigars, & corona's, the
lifeblood of conferences and parrot-heads!
