But, if excavation of the mysterious rectangular area should turn
up
norse remains it may go part of the way to explaining the
presence
of
a stone bearing runes embedded in the upper levels of the tower.

Eric,
if you have a good image please tell were to find it. Read about it
but
not
spoken out since I haven't been able to check an image myself.
Of course I could ask to have it done directly on the tower, but I
don't
want to if there is an image out somewhere.

As far as I know there is not a photograph of this on the web.

Perhaps not the best images, and not the best
of rune carvings...

One problem with that article is that the letters I have had described
doesn't read IHC.... the four letter word is one of the early Christian
used
in Scandinavia... I do hope for better images none of the one of the site
is
good enough to valuate no matter which runeletters there or not!

Thank you JT,

My photographs are of the first series of runes shown on that site.
They were taken by the person who discovered them. I will have to dig
out the whole story to refresh my memory.

JT

However
I do have a photocopy of an article describing the finding of the
runestone and this has a photograph of the runes. I will send you,
and
anyone else who asks, copies by email.

The offer still stands.

I have sent off a PDF file of what I have to both you and Thomas McD.
Please let me know if it hasn't turned up by tomorrow.

It has turned up. I will open it later today. it's 06.55 here in Sweden and
I have as usual at this time to wait if I have a call to work. Don't have
time to deeper reading before afternoon.

Best
