OK, second's over. Still don't care, still not archaeology.
...Huh? The archaeology is in Jodi Magness, a reputable scholar who has
that Qumran was an Essene settlement.
So what? It may be underlain by archaeology, but every time you come
here (IIRC), you want us to read through a whole body of literature on
the topic, and take it poorly when we don't.
What you cut (without noting the cut, btw--that's not a good sign wrt
your honesty), was me asking:
"Just a second.
Bring a single, simple, encapsulated archaeological issue to SA and see
whether a real archaeology discussion is what you are after. It may not
be. If so, finding that out could save you, and us, some
consternation."
In a later reply to Phil, you mentioned the Qumran sundial. Is that
such a single, simple, encapsulated archaeological issue that might
interest someone long enough to check it out?
Trot it out, Dave/Carl. But don't just mention the name and tell us to
do our own research on it. Tell us what you think, what makes you think
that, and cite specific (preferably on-line) evidence that supports
your view.
Do that, and you might get a better hearing.
You up for it?
What don't you understand? Are you striking a pose to be deliberately
obtuse?
If so, why? It only reflects back on you, Tom. I thought you were
made of better stuff.
I am. Why don't you listen to me when I make recommendations.
Or are you the only one who can tell folks what to do?
