It's like wading through treacle, but I'll have a go...

On the contrary. I am an architect specialising in work to historic
buildings. I have been a diocesan inspecting architect with
responsibility for repairs to mediaeval churches and I can assure you
that I know a good deal about, and have practical hands-on experience
of, stone masonry.
And in the _real_ world, that would mean something.
But in Ingerland, the invisible "experts" she keeps hidden in her garage
(where they pass her notes containing information about Fantastic New
Discoveries...that they will publish "soon"*) trump all actual real-world
knowledge of...well..._everything_.
You can't win arguing with Inger. In her world, it is utterly impossible
for her to _ever_ be wrong about _anything_. And - also in her world -
she is an expert on computers, maps, European history, all known
languages, and many other subjects (depending on the need of the post).
And what she's _not_ an expert on, is handled by various relatives and
the above-mentioned hidden guys in her garage, all who are the supreme
expert in whatever the discussion is about.
In the _real_ world, however, you can just default to "Inger said it,
therefore it is wrong" and save yourself a ton of time.

* Where "soon" is defined as "hopefully far enough in the future that you
will forget that it was going to come out" - and if you _don't_ forget
(and we don't) and query "well, where is it?" the usual response is
either that unfortunately you have to read Swedish, or Latin, or Elvish
or something to read it and you can't (even if you can), or that she
already sent it to you by email and as a result you are now sending her
"sex mails" so she will never send you anything ever again...
....at least, until the next time she needs this excuse...

"So many of you come time and time again to watch this final end of
everything which I think is really wonderful and then to return home to
your own eras and raise families and strive for new and better societies
and fight terrible wars for what you know is right, it gives one real
hope for the whole future of lifekind...
....Except of course we know it hasn't got one."
