well, D'oH !!!!!!!
That's predisely why they had to fabricate the
roof rom straw and charcoal and sulphur and
barnyard manure...
...and that's why the roof *EXPLODED*
EH? and burned, and like that, and the top
6 feet is missing.
It was the Goths, I tell ya!!!!!!! They learned
the recipe from the Chinese during their
earlier voyages of discovery that only certain
scholars that I can't reveal can verify.
Thought you knew.
I know it's true, and that's all you need to
know. I need say no more on the subject,
until my manuscript is on the best seller
list.
If you disagree, you may not be a scholar.

Phttwt! Just like you, Eric. Come to an archaeology ng, and show a
cellar with not a bottle of wine, nor a barrel of whiskey or a can of
beer.
You would destroy the whole field, you would! :-)
At leats it was on topic to the extent it was a Gothic cellar and
contained arches.
Actually, it reminds me of one in Stirling castle, except the Stirling
Castle cellar was not nearly so well lit and when I poked my cameral
into a dark hole in dark corner and took a photograph I later found I
had photographed a little cubbyhole filled with a stack of very
ancient very rusty cannon balls.
