Can I expect you to become an expert potter in order to understand the
changing nature of the ceramics of the Mississippi River area from
about Hudson, Wisconsin to the Illinois border? I'd find *that*
helpful to me.

I have been interested about ceramics for quite some time, not only for
dating puposes but also as far as functional changes go or concerning
ceramics as indicator for a changing cultural environment.

I'd be happy to discuss ceramic changes in the Missisippi river area, or
at
least compare it to what I know about changes in old world ceramics.

What Tom wants to know is whether or not you can turn a pot.

I have done so. I'm working at the firing of selfmade pots, done with the
clay used by 3rd c. germanic people (or rather with what they left of it)
with the technics they used.

And yes, I have realised what and why he asked, but the psycho-pathology of
peshering and pesherists does not interest me much, but ceramics does.

have fun
