This is sci.archaeology, not a betting office.
You keep bringing people like Hang*** up,
and expect us to refute him.
Piss off, troll and go play with yourself.
I understand the impulse to want to reply to Carl, because he is such
a *** and he is so persistently a ***.
However, I think it might be that your time might be better spent
killfiling the fucker (as I have--I only check in on him from time to
time on Google Groups), and getting on with archaeology.
There have been some interesting conversations here recently, some
with two authors who are trying to find a balance between fantasy and
real archaeology for their writing, and one with a request from
someone I respect for help in trying to find ways to date when holes
were cut into stones in her area. Among other interesting topics; and
of course, you yourself are one of the best sources of archaeological
topics here.
And I note with interest that David Meadows has taken to posting his
excellent digests of real archaeological news here (see his
'Explorators' for interesting archie news divided into geographical
areas).
I know why taking Carl to the woodshed is attractive, and to some
extent necessary--at least occasionally. But I personally would like
to see more of your intelligence and humor in better archie threads.
My $0.02 USD. YMMV.
Yes, I know all that, but I have not much time at
the moment and I am not very interested to mingle
in that dicussions.
And Carl is a phenomenon.
