ground connection between the total of signs 241 or 242 or 243, (244)
on thePhaistosdisc, and the fact that the linear tablets from
Greece
only contain eight names on months (30.5 x8); but then on the other
hand the same can be said about many other radical results of
research, ex: the equation E=mc² :-).

The argument would be strong and valid if the 8 months names were
coming from the same tablet. But this is not the case : they are
coming all from different tablets. For instance, deukijojo is coming
from KN Pp1,1 but wodewijo is coming from KN Fp 16,1. So there it is
far from sure that such a list is complete... And there are even
strong motives to believe that it is not (small and equal number of
tablets with the word meno : "month", for instance).

Yes, but will this change,
When it does get back to us. In the meantime it is your delusion. Try sci.lang
instead. The Rev. Dr. Daniels will be most innterested.
if the archaeologists find a deposit of
thousand more tablets in the Cyclades or in another site, tommorow?
And do you also believe (hope) that more important titles of Minoan
officials are missing? The approx. 3500 linear B tablets from Knossos
are after all reflecting social order, economy system, yearly
accounts, etc.

P.S. By the way. How many tablets do contain the name King Minos?

I am not sure, that I got you right Giwer. Anyway, if we drop the
(religious) restrictions for our behaviour towards one another; the
ticket goes right back to the Stoneage with express train. Or this is
perhaps self-delusion?
No, I wonder why so few took the chance to count thePhaistosdisc
instead of try read it.
The answer is easy : because one "reading" a)- is linguistically and
epigraphically correct (no impossibilities or even improbabilities in
it) b)- has been *verified* by tens of facts , when your "counting"
a)- leads to a very improbable conclusion, and b)- the presented
"proofs" are more self-delusion than real proof (e.g. the one you gave
in this thread !).
Sorry to be so rude, but since a long time you have been deluding your-
self : starting from an interesting discovery (the true "stems"), you
drew false conclusions thanks to "manipulations" of the figures (going
from 242 signs for instance to 244) !

You may draw as many beautiful drawings that you want, the fact
remains that there are not 244 signs on the Disk, but 241 plus an
obliterated one !.. That you are voluntarily blind about this fact is
self-delusion.

Now you are wrong again, you forgot to count the two initial
pearlstring pictographs ahead of A01 and B01.
I did not forget. I know that YOU are considering these two strokes
with 5 points as pictograms, but they are OBVIOUSLY just special
"separators", like the other vertical strokes closing the
compartments. Why "special"? Because as they MARK THE BEGINNING of the
reading, the scribe has emphasized it by adding the 5 points. Seing
"pictograms" in these two "marks" is totally arbitrary and contrary to
commun sense : why not, then, considering also all the other
"separators" as "pictograms"?.. And why not considering also all the
oblique strokes as such ?.. This is what I call self-delusion :
between two solutions : the OBVIOUS one and the IMPROBABLE one, you
always choose the second !.. And this because after making a TRUE
DISCOVERY (the "true stems"), you have deduced from it FALSE
CONCLUSIONS. In fact, your discovery shows that a)- the language must
be Greek and b)- the script must use "complex syllables" like PTE in
Linear B. Because it is when some one writes Greek (a language rich in
complex syllables!) in such a syllabic script that "stems" appear in
great number, as on the Disk... Make the experiment, and you will see
it.

This bring the total
number up to 244 pictures.
The reason why it matters, if there are only 242 signs all together
is, my unvillingness to accept a 363 days calendar.
Ole Hagen- Hide quoted text -

In that the relation between the number of signs, and that of sign-
groups is calendrical, you can actually obtain another calendar by
using the 61 separators
But you get the 365 figure, non only by adding the separators, but
also pieces of the spirals !.. This is COMPLETE NON-SENSE !.. Because
let us start from the beginning : Fist you said : one sign correspond
to one day. Well, the problem is : "What is then the meaning of the
sign?".. I assert that it is impossible to find an ACCEPTABLE MEANING
for the signs, and I challenge anybody to find one...
But, never mind ! Let's suppose a stupid interpretation, like : "the
sign means that the owner of the calendar will this day open a bottle
of wine of the mark indicated by the sign : example : "Wine of the
Warrior's Head"). Then, one may interpret the "separators" as : "day
without any bottle of wine opened that day". But what interpretation
to give to the PIECES of the spiral that you have been obliged to also
add to reach a number close to 365 ????
I have to repeat : obsessed by your calendaric idea, you are playing
with numbers, but in COMPLETE NEGLECT of COMMUN SENSE !...
