Since when do people not get better with practice? And when was the last time you read a story which could actually offer documentation of appearing overnight? Yes I have followed them as they appear in some of the generic sources I make it a point to follow.
If you want to have "evidence" they are not made be people start watching for ones that are NOT geometric. Show me a Chinese character and I will be interested in taking it seriously.
Beyond that, given the fact that there is no indication of a form of communication, the only alien explanation is drunken, teenage ETs using the family saucer to terrorize the natives.
