Speaking of geological time, the lake drainage happened partway
through
the 600-year span cited by Turney; the "collapse" he speaks of
happened
after the lake drainage, when a calvin bay opened up in Hudson Strait
and then
extended westward into Hudson Bay, altering the dominant flow
directions of
the Laurentide Ice *** from
outward-from-Hudson-Bay to
inward-toward-Hudson-Bay,
which greatly reduced or halted glacial flow towards the edges of the
ice ***.
