Are archaeologists incompetent? Xerxes is Artaxerxes!

Are archaeologists totally incompetent when it comes to figuring out that
Xerxes and Artaxerxes, Longimanus were the same king?
I think so. I think if something is presumed to be fact, then you simply
miss the implication of anything else.
Case in point the inscription in the hem of the skirt of an image in the
palace of Darius that IDENTIFIED the image as that of "Xerxes". But, the
archaeologist reviewing this reference was scratching his head trying to
figure out why on earth they would include an inscription identifying this
image as "Xerxes" when it was actually an image of Darius!!!
So that was the subjective "interpretation". That someone had mislabeled
who this was rather than presuming the label actually WAS of Xerxes.
The context that this was Xerxes, though, doesn't make sense in the context
of the revised chronology, since the history basically indicates that Xerxes
wasn't born until Darius began his reign and the palace was begun in the 4th
year of Darius, thus Xerxes should have been no more than 4-6 years of age
when this palace was built. So how is it that he is depicted as a young
adult? It doesn't make sense, so the LOGIC kicks in and the presumption is
that this is an error or some puzzlement, rather than understanding this is
actually evidence of a historical distortion related to revisionism.
So archaeologists are not really "incompetent" or stupid, just historically
biased based upon previous presumed truths.
However, once you challenge that the history has been revised and that
Xerxes should have been 18 years of age in the 3rd year of Darius, AND that
there was a co-rulership as well, then the inscription in the skirt of the
image in the palace of Darius makes sense. That is, it simply identifies
this figure as Xerxes, who indeed was by now depicted as a young adult.

Of course, this is PRECISELY WHY while archaeologists claim to be
"scientists" or the field of archaeology is a true science, it falls very
short of that.
