Re: stonehenge

One way to repair the broken stons is to put them back together, then
drill holes thru the pieces. Next, shove a steel rod thru the holes,
attach bolts on the ends, and pass a high electric current thru the
rods. This will heat them up, expanding them. Tighten the bolts, then
turn the current off; the thermal contraction will hold the stones
together and they can then be remounted in their original places.

Another worthy experiment, indicated by "Stone Age Soundscapes" by
Devereux, would be to place microphones at various locations and then
try drumming at various locations. These huge stones are *excellent*
reflectors of sound. The circular placement would create nodes of
sound energy focus. A kind of acoustic amplifier.

When the distance is high enuf, the echo returns in sync with the next
beat. That is, a feedback loop.
