About the book
Using his own long experience as a professional archaeological surveyor and after five years patient computer-reanalysis of the earthwork and stone circle, Anthony Johnson reveals in this brilliantly argued detective story how he solved the key mystery of Stonehenge. Locked within the symmetry of the stones are precise formulae which determine their numbers, spacing and relationships. As a result of this revelation, the whole rationale behind Stonehenge and other major prehistoric sites can be reassessed.

Margaret River's replica Stonehenge
25th March 2008, 7:00 WST
A South-West entrepreneur wants to build a replica of the prehistoric
Stonehenge monument near Margaret River.
Colonial Brewing founder Ross Smith plans to build the 101-stone
structure on his 20ha property about 9km from Margaret River on the
corner of Osmington and Wiring roads.
The $1.4 million project -- nicknamed The Henge -- would weigh about
2500 tonnes, with the tallest stone standing almost 8m. It would
replicate how the British structure stood about 5000 years ago.
Mr Smith said no one had ever tried to replicate Stonehenge in granite
and the project's location had been changed because of the high cost
of a bitumen road and due to neighbours' objections.
"It's a standing circle of stones 33m across and I had to laugh when
some people said in their opposition to it on the other property,
'What does Stonehenge have to do with Margaret River?'," he said.
"Well, I can say, 25 years ago what did grapevines have to do with
Margaret River?"
The attraction would include an inner and outer circle of stones, a
central altar, an interpretive centre and children's playground.
A small team of workers in Esperance has spent the past five months
drilling and blasting the stones into shape.
Mr Smith expected The Henge would be built in time for this year's
summer solstice on December 21.
Tourism WA chief executive Richard Muirhead said he had not seen the
plans for The Henge but he supported the private sector investing in
tourist attractions as long as the shire was also supportive.
