Native American tradition says that they took the land of North America
from "a small, yellow skinned people".

Morton Downey once joked that no
one should be upset at that because the Japanese were buying the US up
anyway. Still, very interesting stuff.
I wonder if the government of Japan would like to see such a
genetic trace done? Would it shake the foundations of national identity
if the Japanese were suddenly faced with the prospect that Japan was not
their original land? Was it their original land? Even if they'd be okay
with it, would the Japanese government assume they would be, and thus
allow science to progress unimpeded?
