That's what I tried to make you understand. You are interpreting this and that from what other writes and say. It's the opposite situation as in your shortning example.

It's interpretation and analysing from neutral position you and Peter A should learn from your shortning example. It's always in the eyes of the viewer the truth of the past is revealed no matter if it's interpretation of artifacts such as scrapers from late Stone Age or written Medieval documents.
