Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites are going to attempt the first
privately-funded manned flight to 100Km on June 21, using the White
Knight and SpaceShipOne. This is NOT an attempt for the X-prize, since
only one person will be aboard. The public IS welcome at the launch at
the Mojave site. See details below. Now if we can just get one of the
networks to actually *cover* the damn launch, more than just a snippet
as they fire off the rocket motors or land the craft. The Discovery
Channel is working on a mini-documentary about the whole thing.
