True. But a BBS and email lists are not Usenet. Incidentally, I also
ran a BBS (FirstClass) in the 80's. Usenet form was practiced there,
not because there were rules to do so, but rather because it simply
made sense. Good posting habits insure your messages are seen and read
by the widest possible audience.

Sorry, your header indicates you're using Microsoft Outlook Express
6.00.
It's *not* designed to top-post, and it is an example of an
email/newsgroup client that I wrote of earlier.
It's a trivial matter to post in proper form (even using Microsoft
Outlook Express 6.00 ) if you're inclined to do so. Blaming the
software for your posting habits would be like telling a cop "But, gee,
officer, can I help it if my car/truck can do twice the posted limit?"
Still, I'm hoping you can resolve your sidewalk dilemma quickly and as
painlessly as possible, and by all means continue to post as you
please, but your "software is designed to do it" this way argument is
both silly and false.
Management has just informed me that I've exceeded my Usenet posting
protocol lecture bandwidth for this quarter.
Cheers!
