No. At the (geographic) North pole, every direction is _South_. East is
spinwards. There is no "spinwards" on the axis of spin itself. (If you want
to include the orbital motion of the planet, then note that your definition of
East has changed to being "the direction of sunrise", and that your reasoning
has become circular - "the sun rises in the direction of sun rise". Justify
such a definition.)
(For bonus points, tell us which direction the sun rises in on the surface of
Uranus, at its poles and elsewhere.)
