              Hello Richard ,

The three telescopes I listed that he used are high quality
instruments that will give an image with good contrast . I would not
call any of them $250.00 telescopes or even 800.00 telescpes .
Mediocre seeing was not an issue . Any kind of test with a telescope
on the open sky needs good seeing , lets say Pickering 8 or there
about . Mr Seronik knows what good seeing is . All I ever said was the
telescopes are adequate (not perfect) for the test he was doing, no
more no less. If someone else thinks one needs a 10 inch apochromatic
refractor set-up next to the twin Keck telescopes on a night of
absolute perfect seeing with only Mr. X looking and doing the deciding
on whats what , all I can say is bull . The two main eyepieces he was
judging against , the Brandon and the TeleVue are not regarded as the
very best to test against , the Pentax ortho's and the Zeiss 1/14
ortho's are by popular opinion the best test mates so the difference
should be just a tad easier to see( for the experienced telescope
user) if all was equal.
Three of the four eyepieces sent for the test have been
found to be defective when tested by Mr. Thomas Back after they were
returned in the mail to him . Gee that says something was amiss with
the eyepieces not the test instruments .
