I didn't directly respond to Rod's comments because they amounted to
little more than the "MAC-PC thing." Long on rhetoric, short on fact.
Largely irrelevant to the question posed.
What I did do was provide links to Mac software that was directly and
indirectly relevant to the original question posed and some of the
follow-up noise.
Sorry, it was Rod who picked up the cudgel that the troll inserted, not
me.

Noted. Although the caveat is not needed.

FYI, I've seen them all as well. Thus by your logic I'm at least
equally qualified.
So, what you're also saying, in effect, is that you're more inclined
and/or comfortable shaping the discussion as a Mac vs. PC debate and,
that you're more inclined to accepts Rod's comments over my evidence.
Your prerogative, of course.

A). Bottom line is two words. (Sorry, but even AOL has a spell check.)
B). Feeding the troll was turning the discussion to the PC v. Mac
issue. That was not my work. That was the trolls with a nice
assist from Rod, and now you.
C). Had you bothered to follow the links provided, and were you in a
position to evaluate the Mac software packages listed, you might
appreciate that much of what Rod was pontificating about was
rubbish. I addressed Rod's comments indirectly
by demonstrating they were incomplete, subjective and to be
candid, dated. Sucks to be proven wrong, but the adult thing
to do is acknowledge as much, not turn the discussion around.
D). As both a Mac and PC owner and user (as well NeXT and UNIX) I've
been known to also recommend emulation, but it's not the best
way to go, and in this precise example, not even a good way to go
given the original poster's requirements. Re-read that post
and then we can talk.

I'm not sure how you reconcile the fact that you acknowledge that
you're not in position to judge the issue personally, but are in a
position the evaluate the assorted commentary and provided packages.
Seems to me you're evaluating personalities over facts, but that's your
right.
However, in the interest of domestic tranquility I'll close by saying
you're absolutely entitled to your opinions. It would probably be in
your best interest to insert your opinions into topics which you have
some first-hand experience and knowledge of, but then again, this is
Usenet, you often get far more noise than signal.
