I had a similar situation a year ago. I had believed I purchased a scope,
sent the money and the scope never arrived. Frantic, because I had sent off
$2000, I tried emailing and then calling the seller, but he never responded.
Finally after a month, I get an envelope with the uncashed check saying that
someone else had purchased the scope. What! So, I have avoided buying
anything on there ever since.
