What you all missed, I had CdC working on THIS machine just 3 months ago
when I had the old hard drive running in it. That drive failed, I replaced
it with a bigger and faster hard drive. Did nothing to the OS nor the BIOS,
but the last time I installed CdC, the set up file had the old style setup
screen ( like so many other programs ). Now it has the look of things
written for windows xp and this is what happens:
I shut down all extra files, virus protect, cd burner, popup, etc.
I open screen to "Programs" ( having already unziped file)
I double click on cdc setup.exe a small image appers on screen with a bar
that shows something being decomparessed or something, bar fills up, image
just sits there and nothing more is done.
Now I'm not the greatest computer user, but I like to think that in the 23
years I've been a computer user, ( starting with an T/S-1000, all my Ataris
and now these ram hog windows machines ) that I've a level above total know
nothing.
