Yes... that seems to be true. And even among those members who are active,
they seem to divide into 3 groups (or combinations thereof):
1. Those who come for the fellowship and seldom actually observe... in fact
seldom even set up their scopes.
2. Those who come for the observing. These people often have very
elaborate observing "programs."
3. Those who come for the sharing of the night sky with others. These
people seldom engage in solo observing.
Of course some people are AC or BC or some other combination. Personally,
I consider myself a BC.
