To see much disk detail, the passband of an H-alpha filter must be less than 1
Angstrom and it must be fairly sharp. The Lumicon solar prominence filter is
just that, a prominence filter (ie: not designed for disk detail). According
to Lumicon, it has a passband width of 1.5 Angstroms, so it is a little too
wide to show much disk detail, although it does a passable job on prominences.
That having been said, the PST simply blows the Lumicon filter out of the
water, as considerable limb and disk detail is easily seen. From comparing it
to my 0.7 Angstrom T-Scanner, I would have to say that it probably is around
0.7 to maybe 0.8 Angstroms with edges that may be somewhat sharper than my
T-Scanner's passband. Clear skies to you.
