I don't think there was a joke, I just think people are uneducated
about the Islamic religion. Like Christianity, there are hundreds of
offshoots (sects). Moderate Muslims do not agree with terrorism, and
it even states in their Koran that killing yourself, women, children
or any non-combatant, even harming a cities infrastructure will be met
by the fires of hell upon your death. The problem with Islam is that
it has not updated itself over the years, and has remained stuck in a
"medieval" mind set.
The original founders of the Islamic religion were actually quite
liberal, and it was the first religion to give women rights, such as
filing for divorce, and inheriting the husbands wealth and land
ownership after his death. We see that many of the sects of Islam
today do not follow its basic beliefs, and they have manipulated or
brainwashed people into a neo-Islamofasist thought.
In their Koran, a Jihad is not going to war and killing people because
of an attack on their religion, a Jihad is actually a battle inside
oneself to combat personal demons such as addictions or having an
abusive personality.
Their religion has been hijacked, and if they don't fight back and
regain control - I think it will be crushed.
There are over 1 billion Muslims in the world, and it is the largest
religion in the world. The people conducting suicidal attacks against
people are only representing .01% of those billion people...
Unfortunately, many moderate Muslims don't condemn the .01% of its
people for being morons - and this is where the problem is.
If they can't fix their problem soon, then the world will not tolerate
it - and they may even loose their religion because of their bad
apples.
Muslims need to take control of their own religion... it is being held
hostage.
